Moba Frontosa – Blue Zaire (Cyphotilapia gibberosa)
Known for its rich blue coloration, bold black bands, and impressive presence, the Moba Frontosa is a standout Lake Tanganyika cichlid. As it matures, its broad body and prominent forehead give it the classic look prized by Frontosa enthusiasts.
These slow-growing fish do best in a spacious aquarium with stable, hard, alkaline water, strong filtration, and rocky retreats. Keep with similarly sized, compatible fish, as smaller tankmates may be eaten.
- Adult size: Approximately 12–14 inches
- Temperature: 75–80°F
- Diet: Quality sinking cichlid pellets and suitable frozen foods
- Temperament: Generally calm, but predatory toward smaller fish
- Aquarium: A large, wide tank; 180 gallons or more recommended for an adult group

Live Arrival Guarantee
We stand behind every shipment with our Live Arrival Guarantee. To qualify:
- A clear photo or video of any DOA fish inside the unopened original bag must be emailed within 2 hours of delivery.
- Packages must be shipped to the correct address provided at checkout (no forwarding addresses).
- Someone must be present to receive the package on the first delivery attempt.
- Refunds are issued for the cost of the fish only; shipping fees are non-refundable.
- All listed fish sizes are approximate.
- Customers are responsible for complying with all local and state laws regarding livestock.
