Pinstripe Damba (Paretroplus menarambo) – Madagascar Cichlid

A distinctive cichlid native to Madagascar, the Pinstripe Damba features a deep, rounded body covered in fine patterned markings. Mature fish develop attractive reddish edging along their fins, adding subtle color to their impressive appearance.

An excellent choice for enthusiasts of unusual cichlids, this species needs a spacious aquarium with open swimming areas, sheltered retreats, and strong filtration. Choose similarly sized tankmates and allow extra space for territorial behavior during breeding.

  • Adult size: Approximately 10–12 inches

  • Temperature: 76–80°F

  • Diet: Quality cichlid pellets with a varied selection of suitable frozen foods

  • Temperament: Can be territorial, especially when breeding

  • Origin: Madagascar

Coloration and patterns vary with age and individual development. Photos are representative unless marked WYSIWYG.
